Do you know the story of the shepherd
who [tried and] took the moon in his arms
Listen to the story
mainly if you can [agree]
of the man who loved a woman

You can take the [nap in your mind]
you would like to catch the moonlight
But you know the thing is not right
For all of us have some secrets to fight

Do you know the story of the shepherd
who [tried and] took the moon in his arms
listen to the story
mainly if you can [agree]
of the man who loved a woman

[...] [us apart]
you will get the moon from your heart
you [...] [till you're dry]
of the moon you were much too full

[interlude]

Nowadays
people of the mountains say: "That the Gods put the moon
high up in the sky
so that the man might not be tempted to steal it"

Do you know the story of the shepherd
who [tried and] took the moon in his arms
listen to the story
mainly if you can [agree]
of the man who loved a woman

[...] of the mind
for today the moon is too high
shall we try to catch some sunrise
[you may be more lucky if you try]
Do you know the story of the shepherd
who [tried and] took the moon in his arms
listen to the story
mainly if you can [agree]
of the man who loved a woman
